Hello Brampton
My name is Sameer Tandon — although my family and friends simply call me Sam. I am running for Regional Councillor for Brampton Wards 2 & 6.
I want you to know a little about the person behind the name.
I lost my father in a tragic road accident when I was 21. That experience taught me resilience, responsibility and the importance of family.
With my mother’s blessings, I completed my B.Com. and MBA. I have lived and built my life here for more than a decade, while building a career spanning decades in administration, Finance and serving people. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with leading Canada organizations, including The Salvation Army, where serving and supporting people in our communities has been an important part of my journey.
For many years, I have also volunteered and helped people wherever I could. I believe community service should not begin a few months before an election — helping people should be part of who you are.
I am blessed with my wife, my son and our beloved cat Jack, who is truly another child in our family.
Our current Regional Councillor has served three terms. I respect anyone who serves our community, but I also believe residents deserve choice, accountability and the opportunity for change.
This time, I am asking Ward 2 & 6 residents to give me an opportunity.
Give me the chance to serve — and then judge me by my accessibility, my effort and my results.

I will support strong police services, reliable paramedic response, emergency preparedness, and community safety initiatives that help keep every neighbourhood safe.

I will strengthen Peel Public Health programs, improve access to mental health services, support paramedics, and ensure seniors receive the dignity, care, and respect they deserve.

I will advocate for reducing unnecessary red tape, supporting entrepreneurs, attracting investment, and creating an environment where businesses can grow and create good-paying jobs.
Investing in the next generation.
I will support youth employment, skills development, recreation, leadership opportunities, and partnerships that help young people succeed and reach their full potential.
Moving people safely and efficiently.
I will advocate for better regional transit, safer roads, improved traffic flow, and transportation planning that supports families, workers, seniors, students, and local businesses.
Nothing hidden. Nothing wasted.
I will champion open decision-making, clear budgets, responsible spending, and regular communication with residents so every major decision and every tax dollar is accountable to the people of Peel.
Affordable taxes. Safe communities. Affordable housing. Better health. Strong businesses. Opportunities for youth. Better transportation. Transparency.
Together, we will build a stronger, safer, healthier, and more affordable Wards 2 & 6.
I will push to cut wasteful spending first, review unnecessary costs and use those savings to help lower property-tax pressure while protecting essential services.
I will push for stronger enforcement, quicker action on repeat problems, cleaner neighbourhoods and practical measures to improve road and community safety.
I will focus on more reliable transit, reducing overcrowding and delays, and improving traffic flow based on where residents actually need service.
I will advocate for reliable transportation, accessible services, affordable housing options and stronger support so seniors can live with dignity and independence.
I will keep pressure on all levels of government to move Brampton’s healthcare projects forward, while demanding clear timelines and accountability for public funding.
I will support more affordable housing, help small businesses grow, reduce unnecessary municipal red tape and work to attract more jobs and investment to Brampton.
